Looks a bit too much of a moody teen gangster movie for my taste, but the editing and cinematography are better than most low-budget movies I see (so, probably, is the acting, though it's hard to be sure without dialog).

One thing I would say is that for a trailer, particularly one without dialog, I'd cut it to half the length: five minutes is just too long.

Mark, thanks for the input, much appreciated. It's actually not a teen gangster movie at all. But I can totally see how you would think that, judging from this. It's about the underworld of Niagara Falls. They aren't really gangsters, they're more like punk-ass kids, in the sense that they are the guys who hang out at 7-11 till 2am throwing rocks at peoples cars and stuff. More like that, than gangsters.

And thanks, it cost 10 grand to shoot it, 22 day shooting schedule. It was hard believe me. It is a bit long, it's not really a trailer, it's more of a montage preview type thing.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Jay

Cool, I've actually been writing a horror script about people like that here in the UK... unfortunately I think it's unfilmable as I doubt I could convince a council to let me borrow a housing estate to make a movie that shows them in such a bad light :).

Out of interest, what did you shoot it on? From the look of that footage I'd say you did pretty well for a budget that small.

We shot with the DVX100. Yeah we're having a problem right now with the City of Niagara Falls. See the movie takes place in Niagara Falls and is somewhat based on actual stories of people we know. And the city refuses to acknowledge that this kind of crime (locals on tourists) actually happens.

We're trying to have our premiere at the new casino (it's an amazing theatre) but since they are gov't owned, we need to get permission from the city. I talked with the Mayor's Assistant, he said quote "sounds like a fantasy film to me" meaning he doesn't think that there is any crime in the falls. It's ridiculous.

Anyways, best of luck with your movie, i say go shoot it, and damn the gov't, that's what we did. Show them what's wrong and how to fix it, that was our intention.
