Hi all. This is a trailer for a film that was made in under 48 hours, for a competition that is held every year here in New Zealand.

Here's the link: http://chrishurn.com/48hrsdial.mov

I made this trailer last night, and it's rough but I thought i'd post it. (Anyone like my trailer voice? :P)

Trailer voice is good.

So did everyone have 48 hours to make the trailer? Did they shoot the movie in 48 hours? How about a little more info.

It's a very well done trailer, I kind of wish it showed more of what the movie would be about though. Not the twists like recent Hollywood trailers but what the Magic Bones are, or some of the affects they have on people might be nice.

Sorry, here's a little more info.

Hundreds of teams throughout the country had 48 hours to make a 7 minute film. They had to write, edit, etc. all in 48 hours. (This was earlier in the year). There was a national clock that started at 7pm Friday night, and finished 7pm Sunday night. There were about 80 teams in Wellington (where I live) and there rest split up into 3 other main cities.

Anyway you got drawn a genre at random and we got...disney family movie. Lol. Everyone met up at the meeting point in their respective city to get their genre and get the info. Each film had to have a banana in it, a character called "bodil derezney' (animal lover) and the line "please don't do that". For more info you can see http://48hours.co.nz

This trailer was just something I pulled together in a few hours last night. I didn't want to give too much away, and it's hard to make 1 minute trailer out of only 7 mins of 'film' to work with lol.

hey, saw this on the 48hours boards too (I entered the competition this year as well). I'll just comment for you here.
It looks good. One problem i have is the sound quality (well the video is tiny too, wouldn't mind seeing a higher quality version of it, or even the whole film, of course if you're thinking of entering it into a festival they might have a problem with it being distributed beforehand especially on so openly on the internet). And the the music was probably too loud next to the voices, at the beginning especially.

on the other boards you also say its you're first film, it's pretty good for a first. And you'll get even better with the more films you make, so keep at it.

Good Luck

Thanks for watching. I'll fix up that audio. 🙂 What city did you enter from vierstein? Also how did you go on 48hours?

We entered in Auckland (I acted and wrote for my team), we didn't make the deadline, but we managed to get on the DVD because the film was so bad (people were thrown by physically painful audio and video at the screening).

Hey, good to see some NZ representation here!

I'm doing real amateur-hour stuff in Wanganui under the banner of ICEntertainment (www.ice.org.nz). I recently hired out the 48hours DVD, and thought a few of the entries were awesome, but quickly got turned off simply because of the stringent theme requirements. I honestly couldn't stand to see another Bodil Derezney!

Other than that the competition sounds awesome and definitely something I'd enter just for the fun and experience of it.

Totally on topic now, that's an awesome trailer. I wish I'd seen your whole film now!
