Hi all!

I've been absent from here for a while, been busy actually working to actually make something of myself rather than just sitting around TALKING about it The Peven Just joking

So I have some clips for you (YouTube links of course). The first is for a short film I just worked on as Director of Photography and Editor for the Australian Film Commission (the main film funding body in Australia, since we have no real industry most film development and production money comes from the government). Its director, Lisa Kowalski, was only 19 and also wrote and starred in the film. She is a big Judd Apatow fan and was aiming for that kind of tone, and I followed suit in my capacities. I cut a trailer for fun so please take a look.

The second clip is a little complicated to describe...a few months ago I shot a 7 minute sequence from a feature script I'm currently developing, in order to garner interest from producers and financiers in Australia and overseas. The clip is not the entire sequence but a kind of "trailer" for that sequence. Its not quite finished yet, just putting the finishing touches on the score now, but I hope this will give you a sense of the tone and style I'm aiming for.

The film itself is about two movie geeks who discover the true meaning of adventure when they find themselves in a life-or-death situation. I know it sounds self-aware, but I'm playing it very real (imagine the tone of Superbad...if Seth and Evan found themselves on a grand adventure, it might look something like this. Its called "Private Property". Hope you enjoy the clip...

Both these films have a "commercial" agenda, which in Australia is somewhat unusual as our films are normally very arty. I'm not a fan of that style of filmmaking and trying to communicate to people that making commercial films does not necessarily mean sacrificing storytelling integrity has been a task.

Have a good one!
