Anyone hear familiar with the work of director Mick Davis? I think the film came out on DVD a while back, but I just recently watched his latest work Modigliani, about the early 20th century French artist, and loved several aspects of the film. The acting was excellent, with Andy Garcia leading the way, the cinematography capturing Paris was even better, and the storyline he chose to use to capture the artist couldn't have been more perfect. If you're not familiar with the artist, you may want to watch the film before viewing the site, but for the curious:

I actually got my copy from Universal as a promo, but it's definitely out on video by now. Mick Davis, the writer and director, claims that he chose Modigliani as a subject because the painters of this time period in Paris were like the rock stars of the sixties -- short troubled lives with shades of brilliance. Anyone else see it or know more of Davis' work?
