Hey,
I'm new to the forum... I'm a 16 year old filmmaker in Australia - this is my most recent production called "Girl and the Boy". A medium lengthed drama/documentary.
I would much appreciate your thoughts and comments about my movie. It was made independently with no budget or assistance.
The movie can be watched on my website: ?url? http://finaldestiny.tv/fd/?page_id=157?/url?
All in all a great job. Very visual, good shots, some really nice moments. But wow, does it start slow. Nearly a minute watching a girl put on her makeup had me squirming in my seat right away. I wonder if the whole 40 minutes is going to be this detailed. This slow. I understand that it?s real and I assume it?s the mood you want to set - but it just didn?t work for me.
I liked the interviews. You portrayed the isolation and frustration of the girl well. But it was too slow for my tastes. Too many long scenes of the boy or the girl feeling bad set to music. Could be that I?m getting old. I made a couple of films exactly like this when I was 15, 16 - I think we all do. You got the feelings across well enough from the inside, any teenager will identify, but for anyone 5 years outside of the teenage years the only thing you really hit was the interviews.
Great work!
