Hey I am new to the board and thought I would introduce myself to you all. I have lived in Maine all my life and love writing screenplays and filming short movies. I only have a handycam as of right now. I have graduated from college and have worked with various cameras and equipment such as: Studio cameras, XL1's, some lighting expierence, linear and nonlinear editing bays and have also been in a some acting classes (though I am no actor lol). I have also worked on a feature with Screamkings. I was a PA.

I am currently working on a short screenplay but am having trouble finding a cast and crew who would be interested. Does anyone have any suggestions or is interested?

If there's also a film company that is looking for a crew or needs help I would be glad to help if able to.

I hope to talk to you all later! Peace

?I don't know if this is the forum I should be in. I didn't see any general forum. ?

Actors can be found at acting schools like where you took acting classes and where there is a community theater putting on plays, there are actors. Local colleges that have theater departments will have actors looking for experience. Often people interested in theater are also interested in making movies both in front of and behind the camera.

Generally you should finish the screenplay and then look for actors.

Posting an ad on actors magazines and websites (I used Backstage West but I was told other ones get better responses) can get you flooded with actors headshots. Be sure to specify pay/unpaid, union/nonunion, expected length and your location.
