Hello all, I've been an independent (off and on) filmmaker for the last 10 years or so. One of the greatest difficulties I've had was trying to get people to notice me and my work. I can describe my work, but people would rather see it than listen to me drone on and on. I can give them my youtube channel, and my linkedin/facebook name but then they have to become my friend before they can see my page. I can also just set up my own webpage and have them visit it, but server costs and maintence just aren't worth my money or time.
Together, with a few friends, we've created a site that tries to consolidate all of these other sites into one:
www.creativesaloon.com
Creative Saloon allows anyone in the film business to easily create a full profile of themselves complete with resume, experience and sample of their work. You can upload videos of your work, pictures, pdf files of scipts or other writings, and audio clips (if you're a musician or in sound design). Anyone can visit your page (with or without regestering and friending you) and see your work. You can also post upcoming shoot you may have and search for cast and crew in your area. The best part of this site is that it's COMPLETLY FREE.
Our site is still new and we could use some feedback. Please check it out, give it a test run, and let us know what you think.
