Hey,
My name is Heather and I manage the Howcast Emerging Filmmakers Program. I just wanted all the beginner film and video makers here to know we're always looking for creative folks to make how-to videos for Howcast.com, one of Time Magazine's 50 Best Websites of 2008.
Experiment with new production techniques and story-telling devices, producing videos on topics ranging from How To Eat Cheaply to How To Be a Good Kisser. Build a following of viewers as Howcast distributes and promotes your videos across the web (on AOL, Yahoo!, Break and others) and beyond (to TiVo, iTunes, and others). Build your reel without quitting your day job (or cutting class) in the Howcast Studios Emerging Filmmakers Program.
Work freelance, on your own schedule. Get creative and make some extra cash while you're at it. Every accepted video receives a stipend and revenue sharing, and accepted directors go on to produce multiple Howcast spots.
Howcast provides a short script, signature graphics, pre-recorded voice-over and audio tracks from our growing music library. You provide the vision and basic requirements -- 3-chip camera or better, video editing software, and some shooting gear (tripod, lights) also helpful.
