Im sure Jennifer can speak for herself - glad youre still here!
- but I think thats exactly what she was asking. Not that there
are few women directors, but she wanted to know of there are
women directing the types of films she is interested in direction.
I dont see that as an assessment of Hollywood, but a question
regarding her potential career path. But I do agree with you,
Kurt - thats subjective. I suggest that each of us comes to our
career choice from a subjective (not objective) place.
I dont see any blame from Jennifer - just curiosity.

Actually, CI, I posted that before I had read the entire thread, and before I had seen all of Jennifer's subsequent responses. Never a good idea, that! I did get it wrong, obviously, but my post wasn't meant to be nasty, and I'm sorry if it came across that way.
No worries. Your post didn't come across as nasty. It seemed
to me you missed her point. Turns out you did. Even in her
very first post she was asking fo recommendations.
This is what a discussion is. And that's always good.

Cheers. ?:)?
Most directors are men. There are few films (and an even fewer number of good films) that are made by women.
However, my take on this whole issue is this:
Heck, if you can make a movie, then welcome to the club!
