Award winning writer and director, who gave up the daily grind to move out to L.A. to make something of myself. Spent the last 6 years working in network TV, but is well versed in the in?s and out?s of film production - from concept to completion.

I have a large transmedia intellectual property (the genre is intelligent horror/suspense) that I have written and am currently building a brand for. Over the next year or so I would like to shoot a webseries and some trailers to seek funding to take things to the next level. Like every other creative person out there, I want to be part of a self-sufficient production crew that can break the mold and make projects that conserve the artistic integrity and creative control.

I am not offering anyone a job, but would like to meet/network with some people who are passionate about production and working on smart projects. I want to build relationships that can carry over into collaboration and hopefully with some steam built - turn into paying gigs.

Currently wanting to meet a PRODUCER or UPM/PRODUCTION COORDINATOR (who wants to move into a producer roll), someone who has experience with low to no budget shoots. A CINEMATOGRAPHER, who has a mind of their own and wants to build a better reel. And of course GAFFER, SOUND, MAKE-UP, EFFECTS and PRODUCTION DESIGN people who love camaraderie and making an already creative endeavor, fun.

Lets chat, look at each others work, maybe meet for lunch or a drink (if in the Los Angeles area) and hopefully find some common ground.

Excellent post. I hope you find the people you're looking for.

Karl,

My name is Erik Dicksen. I am a composer who works primarily with orchestral music, and I would be happy to work with you on some of your projects if you feel my talents and style can be of use.

I too am looking to build good working relationships with talented people who work with film. I am always up for a good intelligent discussion, email, etc. I don't live in the LA area (Michigan, at the moment), but the internet opens up a lot of opportunities, especially for someone in my capacity who doesn't necessarily have to be on location to be of use.

Anyway, if you are interested in what I have to offer, I invite you to check out my website at http://www.thunderwavestudios.net or shoot me an email any time. Good luck with your endeavor, and I hope to hear from you soon!

As CI will tell you, I have been interested in this business for quite awhile but have no experience, though I have substantial business experience and knowledge. I would love to hook up with you, or at least add you as a contact.

What award did you win?
