Let's put the Summer Glau Curse to the test.
As I've stated, the curse states that, whichever series she appears in will be cancelled shortly. ?URL="http://www.cbspressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/releases/view?id=34430"?She has been slated to star in an episode of the new reboot, Hawaii Five-0,?/URL? so let's see if it will be cancelled after two seasons. If it is - by the 2014-2015 season - then the curse may be valid; if it isn't, then the curse is either invalid or has been broken.
BTW, ?url="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/syfy-cancels-alphas-413099"?Syfy has just cancelled "Alphas" after two seasons?/url?, in which she has appeared, so the curse is holding true.
Anyone?
It's already been proven wrong:
She was in one episode of "CSI:" in 2004. Already in it's 4th season "CSI:" has gone
on for 9 seasons after she appeared and is going strong.
She was in one episode of "The Big Bang Theory" in 2009. It is still going strong four
seasons later.
You also need to watch "Grey's Anatomy". She did 2 episodes in 2012. Are you watching
for it to be over in two more seasons?

But those are not SF shows. Of course, Hawaii Five-0 isn't one either, so maybe the curse only affects SF shows.
You need to set the parameters of the curse. Clearly it does not apply to non-SF shows
so "Hawaii Five-0" will not be affected. Neither will "Grey's Anatomy". If you keep the
parameters narrow you may find the curse is accurate.
I left out "Cold Case" and "Chuck" She didn't sink those shows either by being in them.

Good point. But she has been chosen to star in ?url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_of_Badassdom"?"Knights of Badassdom"?/url?, which is fantasy/horror, so let's see how that goes.
If it fails, then the curse applies to fantasy/horror; if it doesn't, then the curse only applies to SF/Fantasy. Do we agree? ?:D?
In the last 10 years how many Sci-Fi TV shows have gone over four seasons? Is it a "Summer Glau"
curse or is it modern day sci-fi isn't as popular as in the past?

So how do you suggest we test the hypothesis?
This is all on you. I think it's nonsense.
I would say that if a significant number of Sci-Fi shows have gone beyond 4 seasons
and hers have not then you can show a pattern. But you have to stay within the past
10 years - say 2001-present. No fair using Start Trek which... oh yeah, only three
seasons.

She was a recurring guest on "4400", which lasted four seasons. So maybe the curse only affects SF series in which she's a regular.
The episode aired last night - let's see how it goes ...
?url= http://www.staradvertiser.com/s?action=login&f=y&id=190976851&id=190976851?The episode did well in the ratings?/url? - it's not looking good for the curse.

If it lasts another season on top of that one, then the curse either doesn't exist or it only affects SF/Fantasy shows.
How many recent sci-fi shows (say since 1998) have lasted more than four seasons?

Battlestar Galactica and Fringe, if I'm correct. But her curse ends the series at two seasons.
So only two sci-fi series (other than the "Trek" series) have lasted more
than four seasons. Since she wasn't in the others that were canceled in
four or less I wonder if the curse is her or something else.
