Hi all,
I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself.

I've been interested in film and television since I was a kid. I'm starting my film career a little later in life than most, but better late than never.

So far I've made 3 short films and hope to make it as an independent filmmaker. Currently, I'm working as a media editor for a church. Also, I'm writing a new script and a couple of books. My greatest problem is learning how to focus on one project at a time.

I hope to make many good friends here and learn a lot about filmmaking.

Blessings to all.

Welcome. 🙂

I'm almost 50, so it's never too late. Besides, in this day and age, it's not how old you are; it's what you make of your life.

Tell us more about your projects, Ruth. 🙂

Thanks for the welcome Mogul.

One of my projects is a series of childrens short films that teach lessons from the Bible(I've already filmed the pilot, but need to write scripts for the series).

Then I have two books, which need revisions(One is a drama about a family who is involved in a racist murder and the other is about a gang member who is running away from God--These two books will also become scripts).

I'm developing an idea for a reality program.

I have two short films which I'm entering in film festivals.

Lastly, I started writing character backgrounds for a new script idea about a father/daughter road trip.

I'm trying to fit all this in while working a full time job.

Wonderful! I'm also trying to find a balance, and I'd love to share your thoughts.

I've been thinking of making filming a working vacation, you know, take two to three weeks off to film an entire movie or episode of a web series. And you?

Mogul,
That sounds exciting--the working vacation idea. About the only way I'm going to get another film done is if I take a vacation. "Unless it's another 10min. short. Then I can do it in a few weekends I guess.

I have a while before I have to decide. I now have another script idea, so I really have to single out a specific project and stick to it.
