Getting into the movies, as in movie theatres, has always been difficult, but there may soon be alternatives. I have always said that the internet and Youtube would provide an alternative, and now, cable and on-demand may also provide an alternative, not to mention direct-to-DVD. This may be why, as the Economist magazine noted, Cannes was feeling a little less crowded this year.
