I just finished a movie that was 15 months in the making. I really want to enter it in some Film Festivals but I'm pretty new at this. This is my first movie.

Where should I enter my film? I've been doing some research mostly on withoutabox.com

My movie is 93 minutes long and is a combination of documentary, instructional video and feature movie.

Here is a bit about my movie:

The movie features the life of three successful vegan athletes; Natural Bodybuilder Robert Cheeke, Professional Ironman Triathlete Brendan Brazier, and Professional Dancer Tonya Kay. The movie covers all aspects of their lives including their nutrition programs, their training programs, and their vegan fitness lifestyles, how they promote veganism, what a typical day is like for them, and how they became successful in their chosen sport.

The movie also covers live competition, intense training, vegan shopping, a vegan potluck, behind the scenes of contest preparation, and much more.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Robert

Enter all that you can afford. A minimum of 15 to 20.

Typically a "narrative feature" in a festival is a movie that is the product of the filmmakers imagination. A documentary is about real people. Even a movie about a real person (Ray, Walk the Line, A Beautiful Mind, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) is considered a "narrative feature" because the real person is being portrayed by an actor and a script was written that changes events and combines characters to get a better narrative structure.

It sounds like you have a documentary. It stars the real people in their real lives.

What did you shoot on because most festivals will only take 35mm, 16mm, and beta.

Do a search and submit you film.
I've found out that most fees for submitting a film is $55.
So sending it around could be costly.
All the best Nigel
