Preceded by the Vision Award Presentation to Filmmakers Mark and Michael Polish
and Actress Laura Dern with special community awards to Ric Halpern of Panavision and the Echo Park Film Center.

This is our 10th Anniversary year of VisionFest, FILMMAKERS ALLIANCE's annual screening and celebration held at the prestigious Directors Guild of America Theater Complex - regularly attended by overflowing audiences and press.

This year, Filmmakers Alliance will bestow its coveted Vision Award on filmmakers MICHAEL and MARK POLISH and actress/filmmaker LAURA DERN. Community Vision Awards will also be presented to ECHO PARK FILM CENTER and RIC HALPERN of PANAVISION for their contributions to independent film. Past Vision Award recipients include include Mike Figgis, Terry Gilliam, Wim Wenders, Allison Anders, Alexander Payne, David O. Russell and Werner Herzog.

The presentation is followed by the introduction of the Los Angeles Short Filmmaking Competition winner which is, in turn, followed by a program of the best short films produced through Filmmakers Alliance in the previous year.
