Submissions are open for the 1st annual Van Wert Independent Film Festival to be launched July 7-10, 2011 at the beautiful Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, Ohio. Features and shorts from all genres are accepted, along with short films created by high school students. The Van Wert Independent Film Festival has been created to provide a cultural alternative to the commercial film experience, celebrating and promoting the artistic elements of the medium, and to nurture and promote the art of filmmaking itself. The VWIFF is meant to be a base to utilize, enjoy, learn, and discover, as well as becoming a workplace of inclusion and respect, with a focus on the development of creativity and ideas from independent filmmakers from around the world.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
With a promise to Roll Out The Red Carpet, The Van Wert Independent Film Festival will be launched July 7-10, 2011 at the beautiful Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, OH - the first festival of its kind in the Northwest Ohio Region. The VWIFF will open with a Celebration of Shorts to showcase the best Independent Films running 30 minutes or less to be followed with two days and nights highlighting the best Independent Films from around the world. The afternoon during the final day of The VWIFF will play host to The Future an event that promises to showcase the best short features created by high school students from around the country. The VWIFF will also play host to parties and Gala Events in order to attract thousands of attendees.
