Online film festival coincides with site launch
Morristown, NJ ? The Independent Film Forum (IF2) team is pleased to announce the official launch of Independentfilmforum.com http://www.independentfilmforum.com/, a website devoted to providing aspiring film makers with an opportunity to share their work with, and receive comments from, their peers and various industry leaders. To celebrate the site?s launch, IF2 is sponsoring a free online film festival from November 14, 2005 through January 31, 2006. The grand prize for the festival is $1000. The winner will be determined by the registered users of the site, as well as various professionals from the entertainment industry.
IF2 is a free online community where you can share, watch, and critique independent films. The mission of IF2 is to provide constructive feedback to filmmakers and other individuals who are involved in the creation, direction, and production of today?s generation of independent films. To carry out its mission, the IF2 team has recruited professionals from all facets of the film and television industry to provide reviews of the submitted works. ?Like most film makers, I want to know which aspects of my films work as well as those that need some improving. The ability to receive objective criticism from our peers is an important element in furthering our creative growth,? said Jesse D?Aiello, director and founder of the IF2.
Interactive features on the website offer great benefits to registered users. The ?Q & A System? enables individuals to submit questions to reviewers via a confidential e-mail system. Users can also create a profile of their film, consisting of a synopsis, photographs, and a complete list of the cast and crew, on the website. IF2 features a playerless streaming video platform, with nothing to download or install, that caters to various internet connection speeds.
?We hope to inspire those who watch the streaming movies on our site ? film makers and movie buffs alike ? so that they can help a whole new generation of talent develop their potential and gain some exposure,? said D?Aiello.
