The Lakedance International Film Festival ( http://lakedance.com) has opened the call for entries for its 4th annual film festival, scheduled October 31st-November 8th, 2009 in beautiful Sandpoint Idaho at the Historic Panida Theater, with their earlybird deadline falling on August 1st, and a final deadline on September 10th. New this year for interested submitters is the acceptance of horror films for a ?Horrors on the Lake? opening night of the event on Halloween, and now there are four lengths of films accepted, each with different entry fees ? Very Short (under 3 minutes), Short (3-15 minutes), Intermediate (15-45 minutes) and Features (45minutes+).

Lakedance has been called ?A filmmakers? festival, an audience festival and a vacation wrapped into one? by attending directors and stars. The festival includes film screenings, Soaring Eagle Awards brunch, parties, Q&A sessions, panel discussions and more. To date,

Lakedance has hosted nearly 70 filmmakers and stars from around the world, been attended by entertainment industry veterans, film offices, production companies, dvd distributors, literary authors and agents, world-famous artists and musicians and more.
Commitment to filmmakers is a top priority for Lakedance, and the festival offers full admission to all films, events, and in many cases, accommodations will be provided for.

At a 1:6 ratio, Lakedance also features one of the highest acceptance to non-acceptance ratios in the world.

In 2009, Lakedance is poised to have their best festival yet with the inclusion of a ?Horrors on the Lake? program to scare and terrify audience members and nearly twice as much programming room as years prior by adding another venue, in addition to other events and special guests not yet announced. Submit early and save up to 50% on late deadline costs!

Welcome to filmmaking.net, Trevor.

I just made my first short film in 20 years and am
thinking of hitting the festivals with it. Maybe
Lakedance will be my "Premiere"
