Hi. How long roughly does a short film need to be, to be entered in to most short film festivals. I'm wanting to make a short between 2 and 3 minutes long. Is this too short?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Probably an ideal length.

10 to 15 seems to be the norm. But specialist competitions will look for material no longer than 3 minutes. This still enables you to enter the rest of them.

Thanks for the information. When you say specialist competitions take shorts at under three minutes, which ones do you mean?

Film festivals that specifically ask for shorts of three minutes or under :p There are quite a few. Look at http://www.filmfestivalworld.com/
