This FREE, non-profit event features work by international artists addressing social, political, and cultural issues. It's also an opportunity to meet the filmmakers--many already award-winners--and other industry professionals, including our jurors, noted producer Richard P. Rubinstein and actor/director Tony Torn.

Documentaries, features, experimental work, and shorts representing dozens of countries were selected this year. Among the many thought-provoking topics, the artists explore the effects of industrial pollution of India's Ganges River; a remarkable workers' rights movement in Buenos Aires; and the abominable practice in Tanzania of killing albinos to make their body parts into charms.

But while cFF has a theme, it's never one note. There's also a delightful comedy from China about, all of things, infertility, and from Greece, an absorbing fantasy about a city that's literally alive.

cFF was launched in 2008 by Rick Kariolic, who first fell in love with movie-making when he was a kid on Chicago's South Side. New York City's incredible diversity, so unlike his own experience growing up, inspired him to produce films that introduce audiences to people, places, and events they won't learn about from a commercial news feed. He created cFF to build a community of artists who share his vision.

You can learn more about cff and see the complete screening schedule at ?url? http://www.chafilmfest.com?/url?. Reserve your FREE seats there or through Eventbrite.
