Momentum is building as DWF launches into its second decade of celebrating the independent filmmaker. Dances With Films is the ONLY film festival in the U.S. solely geared to the true independent mandating that ALL competition films have no "known" actors, directors, writers or producers.

Bringing back a highly successful program - DWF presents once again - the 2Minute, 2Step Short Film Challenge! Submit your extraordinary 2 minute script and we'll choose the best scripts. 8 filmmakers will be given everything you need to make a short film and 4 hours to do it in. Films will premiere the very next day on the big screen before the competition features!

DWF has premiered more than 900 up and coming filmmakers, their casts and crews. Alumni include great talents such as Will Scheffer and Mark Olsen (2004), creators of HBO's Big Love series, writer, Dan Harris (1999), X2, Superman Returns; director, John Putch (2003, 2006), Mojave Phone Booth, Scrubs, Poisden Adventure; actor, Kevin Rankin (2005), Friday Night Lights, Bionic Woman.
