Cineforum on Climatology: Call for Films
The Cineforum on Climatology from the Edge is announcing a call for films to be featured at a two-day climate change event, to be held in London on 4th-5th December 2009.
Who can get involved?
The Cineforum serves as a showcase for both the mainstream and from lesser known sections of society: mavericks and marginalised voices, including voices from developing countries that are dealing with the front line of climate change. This means that rare views and challenging positions are very welcome and diversity is key.
What is a Cineforum?
A Cineforum is a creative learning format, blending a film festival with a conference and training event. The experience is dynamic and fun, and allows for far greater engagement with the issues raised. www.cineforum.co.uk
What is the Aim?
The aim is to increase awareness about both the impacts of, and solutions to climate change, using film as the medium to share this information. The desire to break out from traditional conversations, and to hear new and exciting views is what really marks this event out. Half the films will be screened as discreet events and half of the films will form the focal point of panel discussions.
Criteria
All types of film, from all genres, from short to feature length, will be accepted. There is no submission fee. The Cineforum Steering group will make the final decision. In total we be accepting 15 films of various lengths.
Submission Deadline
The call for entries is open until 31st August 2009. Submissions are to be sent in dvd format to:
