?img? ?/img??url="http://www.magazineblu.com"?Magazine BLU?/url? ? Lifestyle Sourcebook for Single Adults (hits newsstands Dec 20, 2009) has opened the call for entries for the Magazine BLU BLUfilm Shortfest 2010 and is currently seeking short films and viral videos exploring single life.
This festival was created to expose emerging filmmakers to our affluent, entertainment-hungry, social demographic of aged 30+ single men and women (over 35 million in the US, alone) via a series of nationwide city "minifests" in over 30 US markets (including Honolulu and Anchorage), and to position those filmmakers in front of the media, industry leaders, corporate giants, potential financial supporters and others they might not otherwise have the opportunity to reach. Further, the festival submissions provide a voice to our demographic, one which speaks to the masses about single life over age 30, and potentially answers that question of, "Is the grass greener on the single side of life?"
We're looking for submissions that fall into two main categories:
1. Short Film - Up to 40 mins; Any short film genre (i.e., drama, music video, documentary, comedy, etc)
2. Viral Video - Up to 5 mins; a "Dirty Devil Viral Video" entry depicts the "cheekier side" of single life
The best films win up to $5000 in cash and prizes (potential for larger gifts), PLUS screening in over 30 US cities, with associated media relations and publicity. Live audience potential of 35,000 or more! Also includes editorialization (and photo shoot) in Magazine BLU, as well as showing of the film(s) on Magazine BLU websites.
