The Johnstown Film Festival announces a call for entries for its seventh annual event, which is set for Jun. 13-16, 2012. Original short films of 30 minutes or less are eligible for the competition, and the entry deadline is Feb. 1, 2012.
Cash awards are given to the makers of the top three films and the best youth entry. The festival is produced by the Johnstown Area Heritage Association (JAHA). The first three nights of the festival are held at the Johnstown Flood Museum. The final evening, which features the top-scoring films, has been held in the Heritage Discovery Center?s courtyard in previous years. This year, the festival anticipates moving the final evening to the new Peoples Natural Gas Park, which is currently under construction. The park?s ?Oilhouse? will have an outdoor pavilion that will seat up to 600.
Any original short film of 30 minutes or less is eligible for the competition. There is a $10 entry fee per film, and films of all genres will be accepted. All entries must be submitted on VHS or DVD, and will not be returned unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included with the submission.
