The CINE Golden Eagle Competition is a prestigious, half-century-old competition based on peer recognition of excellence in film, television, video and new media. The CINE Golden Eagle Award is widely recognized within the industry, and has helped launch the careers of many of the industry???s most notable figures, including Steven Spielberg, Ken Burns, Ron Howard, Albert Maysles, Mel Brooks, John Lasseter, Robert Zemeckis and many others.
Last year???s recipient of the CINE Award of Excellence, the top prize in the Student Division, received a cash scholarship and rights clearance grant from CINE sponsor The Chubb Group of Insurers, as well as a film stock grant from Kodak, a longtime CINE sponsor. The recipient of the top prize in the Independent Division, the CINE Masters Series Award, received a generous grant for post-production services from longtime CINE sponsor Henninger Media Services.
CINE begins accepting entries for the Fall 2009 Competition on July 1, 2009. Those who enter by the early bird deadline on August 1 will receive a discount; all entries are due by August 15.
