Asian Producers Lab ? FFS now unveiling lecturers

Fantastic Film School (FFS), a professional training program for genre film professionals at Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) and presented by Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan), now unveils its main lecturers.
FFS, entitled Asian Producers Lab this year, has taken submission since April, 18th, expanding its border to promising young film professionals from all over Asia. It will take place at KOMACON from July 14-20 during Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. FFS will focus on new media, transmedia, micro-budget filmmaking and alternative distribution in attempts to keep up with the rapid changes in current filmmaking trend. Renowned experts will be invited to deliver in-depth lectures to upcoming participants.

Main Lecturers

Eben Davidson
He is a Vice president of Paramount studio. He has served as a studio executive, executive assistant and producer of Sleepy Hollow Rules of engagement, South park Jackass 3D, , Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and Wonder boys among many at Paramount Pictures.

David Kaplan
David KAPLAN is a writer/director from New York City. Kaplan has made several short films, including <Little Red Riding Hood> starring Christina Ricci and Quentin Crisp, which premiered at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, was shown in theaters and on television throughout the world. His first feature film <Year of the fish> premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was screened at the 2007 Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan). Year of the fish> won "Best Film" at the 2007 Avignon Film Festival. Recently, His film, <PLAY>, won Best Short Film at the 2010 PiFan in South Korea.
Kaplan lectured at Scripps College in Claremont, CA on "Fairy Tales into Film" and "Reimagining Fantastic Tales." He has been a lecturer or guest speaker at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, New York University, and the Tampere School of Art and Media, Finland.

Jonathan KIM
Jonathan KIM is a senior executive at International Film Financing and Production, CJ E&M, and an international advisor to the Hong Kong Asian Financing Forum (HAF). He earned a great reputation as a prominent producer by winning Planning Award and Jury Grand Prix from the 41st Annual Daejong Film Awards and The Best Feature Film Award from the 25th Blue Dragon Film Awards with Silmido. His production credits also include Ditto, To catch a Virgin Ghost, Ring, Fly daddy and Virgin snow

John Heinsen
John D. HEINSEN is a veteran of the entertainment industry with almost 20years of experiences in network news, independent film, broadcast television, and the mobile space. He is currently the President and Executive Producer of Bunnygraph Entertainment, Inc., a multi-platform digital content development and consultancy company formed in 2008. Previously, John committed himself to the FOX Broadcasting Company as Manager of Primetime Programming and now serves as Co-Chair of the Mobile Committee for the Producers Guild of America (PGA), New Media Council.

Mike Macari
He was known as the producer of Shelter, The invisible, The ring and The ring two. He was previously at Fine Line Features/New Line Cinema where he was responsible for overseeing the development and production of projects. Prior to joining Fine Line, he was an agent trainee at United Talent Agency where he worked with such clients as Joel and Ethan Coen, Wes Anderson, and Curtis Hanson. He is also a member of the California State Bar.

Macrograph, inc
Marograph is a Creative Digital Contents company preparing to leap onto the international stage. They provide world class VFX/CG output for the clients in the entertainment industries including gaming and film industries both domestic and abroad. They have worked on many films such as martial arts fantasies The Forbidden Kingdom and The Restless, as well as Korean blockbuster film Hanbando.

CHOI Mi-ae
CHOI Mi-ae established Treefilm, a film production company, with director JEON Kyu-hwan in 2008 in South Korea. She has produced Town Trilogy as Mozart Town, Aniaml Town and Dance Town with low budget. She has notably achieved a number of award-winning films with high praises at numerous film festivals such as 2010 Prix du Public. She is going on a new global project of Varanasi, The Weight (NAFF2010 It Project Official Selection).

The deadline of submission is May, 29th. An applicant must be fluent in English and have some experiences of making feature and short films or of taking part in more than a feature film production as a staff.
