I am sure this question has been answered many times .
I am looking for a decent handy cam for shooting documentary movies.
Looking at the responses in this forum and others , I still could not zero-in on model names yet mostly because some of the models are not in sale any more.

I am looking for the following aspects

HD,
OIS,
external mic,headphone socket
good decent optical zoom and
manual and auto focus.
3D (optional)

My budget is 1000$ .Please let me know your thoughts.
