Hi all,
I have been reading previous posts on this, but was wondering if I could get some more recommendations.
I'm looking to be applying for a little bit of funding to buy a shiny new camera. I want to keep the cost fairly low (Low thousands (?GBP). One thing I'm not sure of is HD - is it worth paying the extra for? I have experince of using a Sony Vx2100 (hired), and shot my first short on that. Any recommendations anyone?
Cheers
Paul
I also use a VX-2100, and have played around Canon's Gl-1 and XL-1. I haven't shot on high def either, however when editing the footage from the XL-1, I noticed it was very clear, and I can only guess that the XL-2 has improved on that. An XL-2 is probably one of the top standard definition cameras, as it has native wide screen and 24p settings.
I think it would be wise to check out the ?url="http://www.smartratings.com/photography/camcorders"?camcorder ratings?/url? of the ones that fits your budget. That should give you an idea which one has the best value. And more importantly, you can read the reviews that are available to gain more knowledge about the products you're choosing. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info guys.
Would you chaps say that it would be silly to go fro something like the XL-2 (or 1 for that matter) in these coming days of HD? I edit using adobe premiere, so I take it that's no use for HD?
