Hi
I shoot a lot of corporate videos/presentations using my Sony DSR-PD 170. I like this camera and have never had a problem with it.
I recently got a Nikon D90 with 18-105mm VR.
I'm planning on shooting a short film in the next month. I'm torn over whether to use my Sony or Nikon.
The film will be mockumentary style shot outdoors in Miami. I'm leaning towards the Nikon because I think it will look awesome with the colors, shooting in HD, etc. Also I don't want to deal with permits and I think it will be easier to get away with shooting on an SLR than a big camcorder.
If I shoot on the Nikon I will be buying a zoom h4 for audio. I know it will be a little more complicated than the built in mic on my Sony. I'm also a little nervous because I haven't tried the HD before so I'm not sure if the sound quality will suffer?
Which do you think is a better idea to shoot with? Which would you choose? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
