Im 21, i used to film short movies with my friends all the time in highschool. During junior and senior year i used the schools canon xl1s. and i really liked it. I want another canon, i find tons of canon xl1 for cheap money on craigslist, but i was thinking maybe of a canon xl2? any ideas

If you want to go cheap a used XL2 is a fine camera. Since you want to stay with
Canon check out the Canon GL2. The XF300 is expensive but I hear it's excellent.
Look at the XA10, too.

for les expensive Canon cameras check out the VIXIA HF G10, the VIXIA HF S21
and the VIXIA HF M41.

thanks i really liked the canon xl1s, i used a sony minidv before and i had a smaller canon zr40 which broke.

would the canon GL2 be better then the cannon xl1s? Im looking at canon xl2 right now. What upgrades did they do on the 2 then the 1s?

I'm not a Canon fan so I don't know the specs off the top of my head. I'm
sure a quick search on line will get you the differences. The GL2 has a fixed
lens and the XL2 doesn't - that much I do know. It seems to me, since you
like the XL1s that you will like the XL2. It's an older, discontinued SD camera
so I'm sure there are great deals on used ones.

If you can't find the specs on the cameras I'll do a search and post the link
for you.
