What would anyone use this for? I am trying to figure out what it could be used for...and aside from wanting some weird surreal sense...I cannot think of any reason for its use.

Can anyone tell me different?

I first saw one being used for something two weeks ago. A band had a guy using one on a really nice HD Sony HandyCam to capture some footage for a music video they are doing. The raw footage looked neat.
