Is it possible, wise or otherwise to use a Canon D5 Mark 2 with the Canon Canon XF 100. Are these two cameras compatible or would there be issues. Suggestions would be very welcome!

The video output is slightly different so some conversion will be needed in editing.

The aim of an argument or discussion should not be victory, but progress.

There are two main issues that need to be addressed when mixing footage from different sources:
Resolution -- the footage must be the same (ex. 1920x1080) in order to avoid serious loss of image quality due to scaling;
Frame rate -- also, it must be the same, otherwise the frame rate conversion introduces often quite visible side effects.
If these two are addressed, then the remaining issues mostly revolve around colour matching footage. This is a delicate problem to resolve, but can be done. In many ways, it isn't any different than addressing issues with a footage shot with the same camera, just half an hour apart (after the clouds have obscured the sunlight and seriously changed the colour temperature / white balance settings).
