Hey Everyone,
My name is Imran Hussain, I am a student currently studying my final year for a TV Technology & Production degree. For my finaly year dissertation, i am aiming to set up a new service for short-filmakers. I have proposed a new service where a website will be set up that will be linked to the TV industry in the sense that a panel of TV commisioners will be elected to watch over the website and review the films that are uploaded. This will allow filmmakers with the oppurtunity to have their work recogised by industry personnel which could result in alot of exposure for the directors/producers for their films to be showcased.
The website will stream video in very high quality audio and video in a large resolution rather than in a small window which cannot be made any bigger, which is what alot of the current websites out there a currently using.
I have already pitched my proposal to Screen West Midlands and DCMS (Department for Media, Culture and Sport) who are both showing interest in the project and have recommended various revenue streams to fund the project.
I have compiled a short questionnaire and would really appreciate it you could complete and send back to me.
Please reply to the thread or PM me so i can email you a copy of the questionnanire.
Thanks for your participation.
Imran
Hi there! I think yours is a good idea, but do a good research, there are a few already out there, so you must analyse them very well and detect what are they not offering, so you will.
I am currently finishing my studies at Central Saint Martins and my final project was something similar (only not for television), so if you need any advise (from my humble point of view, I'm no expert), just say it.
Meanwhile, there is an initiative coming in short highly related with your proposal. The website: http://www.icewhole.com
It is still not alive, but will be from next Monday, 4th of June. Check it, it can give you good ideas on what you want (or not want) to do.
Until 4th of June, you can visit either:
