?It begins with discovery of Mungo Man in 1974 and ends with the destruction of the earth by solar flare?
#8232;Some points about The R A R E EARTH feature film#8232;#8232;
1. The events referenced prior to 2014 are factual. Those from 2014 - 2039 are fiction.#8232;#8232;
2. This is the only entity to feature Prof. Jim Bowler describing the discovery of Mungo Man and Mungo Lady in any detail. He has previously rejected the likes of 60 Minutes and Australian Story (ABC). These excerpts are from a documentary that we are making with Jim for possible release at a later date. (He has a book coming out next year).
3. Feb 2014 is the 40th anniversary of Mungo Man?s discovery.#8232;#8232;
4. Mungo Man's bones are to be handed back to the three tribes of Mungo in a high profile national ceremony later this year.#8232;#8232;
5. There is a short sequence included post end credits which is a twist revealing that images thought to be memories from the lead female Assassin?s childhood are actually those of the lead male character - Fergus. This indicates that she was a projection of his psyche based on the girl next door from his childhood (ala Fight Club, Sixth Sense) & therefore the world hasn?t ended.#8232;#8232;
6. The soundtrack score which features heavily is by Steve Kilbey from iconic band The Church and Martin Kennedy from All India Radio.#8232;#8232;
7. The Rare Earth was the first Australian film to be completed using partial funds from the newly introduced Kickstarter.#8232;
