I would just like to warn other filmmakers from working with producer's reps that solicit films online, requesting hefty retainers and claiming to get big advances for television and other markets. I have first hand experience of how wrong that situation can go and just want to warn those who want so badly to get their film out there to beware.
In exchange, I would appreciate hearing about anyone elses experiences as I'm trying to get an idea of how wide spread this is.
thanks,
Susan
It's very wide spread.
There are filmmakers who want to get their film "out there" so badly they will
enter into a contract that is unfair to them.
C'mon Susan, name names. If you truly are here to provide a much needed
warning, I feel you are obligated to tell us the company you have had first
hand experience with.
