my name is sara scalper, and i am a 22 year old sociology student, aspiring director/screenwriter, and horror movie buff extraordinaire. i am hoping to begin production on a short horror film (filming in ocean county, nj) by the end of this month, so i am posting up a bulletin to find cast and crew. the film is titled "red flag", runs about half an hour, and is screenwritten by yrs truly...and it's weird and twisted and all that good stuff. so, what i need are some people who are down to act in it, help me work on the film, and "donate" settings as well. there will be no pay involved (as i am poor) unless the film itself starts making money...and as this is indie horror, it probably won't. so make note of that. what you can expect, though, for this film...if everyone works hard together, we might get in some film fests (nyiff, eerie, tromadance perhaps) and possibly on new breed cinema. and with exposure comes hopeful future support and fanbase, not to mention shit that looks good on a resume. and the best thing of all is...bringing cool, unique horror ideas to life! so, if you think you might be down, read below for the positions available. if you're interested afterwards, e-mail me-saraxscalper?earthlink.net-and let me know you're down! then i can send you info about casting tryouts and filming schedules. and yes, the characters do have horror director last names...they aren't used during the film, therefore i can be a loser.

CAST

-heidi romero: the protagonist. the actress playing her should be in her twenties, and needs good range. she will basically have to go insane during this movie. literally or figuratively? i'm not telling. be prepared if you want this part. you need to be able to drive and have yr own car too. must be cool with kissing boys and pretending you've done the nasty.

-shaun mckee: heidi's friend, works for the town. should be in his twenties. he's the main male lead, and needs to EMOTE. if you're an man who can pretend to cry, you'll ace this. also needs a wide range of emotions. must be cool with kissing girls and pretending you've done the nasty.

the rest of the characters will need to work on being emotionless...since they will be acting this way in at least one part of the film. intrigued? read on.

-alissa argento: sean's girlfriend, in her twenties. if you can do the automaton thing well, you may get this part.

-car woman: can be any age from twenties upward. has to have a good horror movie scream, and must also have the ability to be a stoneface.

-car man: any age from twenties upward. if you can play both zombie-like and angry, you're our man. must know how to open a pocketknife and handle it safely.

-house woman: at least in her thirties. has to be able to play creepy and crazy. fun. must know how to hold a butcher's knife and pretend to stab with it.

-house man: at least in his thirties. has to be able to pretend to sleep, needs ability to stare into space.

i will schedule try-outs for the roles as soon as i receive enough e-mails stating interest.

CREW

we have a director (moi), production manager, cameraman, and film editor already. here's what we still need:

-production assistants: you do whatever we need for you to do.

-lighting person: someone who has lights and is willing to drag them around.

-make-up and costume person: self-explanatory

SETTINGS/PROPS

if you would like to donate a setting or prop, you rock hardcore and will be mentioned in the credits. if not, we use our own or make them from cardboard haha.

-House ..1: Heidi's place. Shouldn't be too big, as she is only in her twenties. Make sure one other house in yr neighborhood is down with having a red flag stuck on their mailbox and being filmed. Need to be cool with us using yr phone, a bed, a tv, chairs, and a glass of water; as well as having the protagonist go in and out many times.

-House ..2: Shaun's home. Should be about the same size as Heidi's. This one's tricky...you have to make sure it's cool with all yr neighbors to stick red flags on their mailboxes and have them filmed, and one of them to be red flag-less and let the protagonist pound on their door. Must be down with us using yr phone, a bed (for a dirty-ish scene), a couch, and a tv. we won't move them, though, just use them. Protagonist will go in and out once as well.

-House ..3: Used for one scene. Where House Woman and Man live. Scene will be filmed in one room. Will use one comfy chair.

-Car ..1: A car parked on the side of the road with a red flag stuck to it. Pull yr car to the side of the road we're filming, stick a flag on it, and voila! Instant fame-ish-ness.

-Car ..2: Bloody car. Either needs to have vinyl seats (can be wiped off) or be really shitty already. We supply the Karo syrup...er, blood. Someone's gonna die in there. But not really. If you let us use yr car for this, I will buy you ice cream. Seriously. Must be cool with having it driven a few feet too, and having a red flag stuck to it.
