Hello out there!

As you can probably tell by my username, I am a first-time director. I am looking to shoot a indie, sorta cheesy, vampire horror film within the near future. It is called "The Return" and is about a woman's ex-husband who has returned home after being bitten by a vampire. Cheesy, I know, but what can you do, I didn't write the script (my cousin did).

The lead of the film is the woman, Sammantha Wilson. The other characters are her ex-husband Eric and daughter Jessie.

Now on to the requirements for the role:

*Can be from anywhere in the country (USA), but preferably the Northeast as that is where the film is set. It's also where I am based.
*Must be somewhere between the age of 25-35, but young looking.
*Average height-tall, and thin.
*Physically fit.
*Preferablly blonde or brunette but that really doesn't matter.
*Must be capable of picking up and carrying a 10-12 year old girl.

So that's about it. I do not know when auditions for the film will begin, as I have not set a definite filming date yet. Headshots and other specifics will be worked out later. But please post here if you are interested and think you meet the requirements for the film, as I will get back to you for the auditions when a definite date for the film is set. If the film does not end up getting shot, I will notify you all as well.

Thank you and if this all goes through, I look forward to working with you!

Here's a little advice. If you want an actress who is serious you should act professionally - even as a newbie.

If YOU think it's cheesy and feel the need to make excuses about the script, the actress might think you don't really have passion for the movie. Maybe you will treat the production as just a cheesy movie written by your cousin.

It's very difficult for an actress to book time for your movie when there is no start date. Sometimes a new movie maker doesn't actually make the movie due to unforeseen circumstances. I suggest you wait until you have a firm start date before you ask for interested actresses.

I know you would happy to consider an actress who lives in Hollywood (for example) or Hawaii, but since you won't be paying maybe it would be more professional to narrow your search to actresses near where you are shooting. I also suggest you narrow it down even further than "the Northeast". Even traveling 100 to 200 miles to be in a movie can be very taxing on an actress.

Good luck on your movie!

I thank you for your advice. I have thought it through, I have decided to start filming summer 2007. Audiditions will be held at the beginning of the year.

To narrow it down, any actress from the New England area will do.

Again, please respond here if interested and if you think you meet the requirements. Once I get enough interested actresses, then we can begin the process of auditions and other necessities.

I look forward to working with you!

And if you have questions, please feel free to IM me at darkside489 (sorry, don't give out my e-mail address even if it is for something like this) and I will be happy to answer them.

P.S. I was not trying to downgrade the film. I mainly said it was cheesy to get a good laugh out of possible actresses, and because it is cheesy. Most indie horror films are. That does not mean I don't have passion for the film, which I do, and I think it is extremely well written for an amateur screenwriter (my cousin had been a writer of fiction before, this was his first venture into screenwriting).
