I'm making a few videos in my home audio studio and I really don't have much space with blank walls and so most of my video shots seem....strange?

Anyways I feel I should get a back curtain or something of another color to put behind me as im on my own. I would need something that can mount up on a stand and then pack away nice and small when the day is done.

I've learned more and still wanting for more, just want to explore and use my experiences and my learnings from my school like having your own shots and making your own film.?url= http://www.filmschool.ph?my projects.?/url?

Welcome to filmmaking.net!

Sounds like a great idea for a portable backdrop.

I saw a video tutoral on the internet where a guy went to the local hardware store and bought 2" pvc pipe and built a stand very cheap.

He then went to a fabric store and bought some cheap green cloth for the green screen. It would do what you want to do.

I am trying to remember where I saw it. Maybe you tube but not sure.

To build off ETN productions...depending on if you do post production (I only use Final Cut) you can use a blue wall as well, when using the chromo key. So it necessarily doesn't have to be green, blue if you already have that fabric in abundance.

Pretty Me - If building a stand is not within your interest, you can always take a light and use a cookie on the background so it doesn't seem to bland...you know? Plus you can always blue the background if that is possible.

Not meaning to pick nits.....but using the bright green is my choice. Using blue can limit clothing/wardrobe of your talent because not enough contrast. Most editing software programs have better results with green.

Not everyone can afford FCP.

FCP express is cheaper. =) That still allows you to use green screen, actually that is what I use. =P

ETN I have used both (not extensively) but you could be right. I've never really noticed the difference. I've seen a green screen mess with someone wearing a white shirt before (they were wearing a maroon coat).

Thanks for the input though, it makes sense.

I got a nice portable backdrop from Sammy's Camera. I cost about $125. Then you can get photographers paper that comes in rolls either 5' or 9' wide in many colors. $30 each, I think. I like the green screen idea, you can go out on location and shoot some nice background images for use later... Good luck!
