The drama 'Assume to Presume'(working title) is being made by students from the WFA Media & Cultural centre as their final project on the City & Guilds National Diploma.
The Drama takes place in a cafe where there are a variety of different characters who are leading quite different lives. We see these characters through the eyes of the cafe owner who is quite a judgemental person and the audience are lead to assume certain things about the characters, but as we became more aware of who the charcters are we realise just how wrong we were to assume.

Characters Required

Mags is the nosy café owner who makes assumptions about everyone and is a bit of a gossip, but also a humorous and likeable character.
30's-40's

Jackie works as a waitress and dresses in a Punk/Goth style. She is a musician in a brass band. She is a quiet, open-minded person.
20's

Muhammed is a taxi driver who is also a passionate musician who always carries with him his most prized posession - his trumpet.
40's-50's

Sarah is a female in her twenties who is a professional career orientated type of person. When we meet her in the café she has been to the gym.
20's

Jenny is Sarah's best friend and flat mate. We hear her opinions at the begining of the film, which reflect on what happens in the story.
20's

Jimmy is a young man who has middle class parents who are quite comfortable financially but he chooses to wear casual clothes like tracksuits and caps, but people will make certain assumptions about him because of the way he dresses.
17-21

Terry is Jimmy's best friend who is helping his parents move house.

George is Jimmy's dad and was recently made redundant which is why they are moving to a smaller house and he is going for a job interview, we don't find this out in the story, but he has a postive attitude to life and change
40's-50's

Mary is George's wife and Jimmy's mother. She is well spoken and kind, but does like to gossip.
40's 50's

An older woman who is spotted by Mags at the begining outside the Café speaking to herself.
40's-50's

This will be great in front of camera experience for any budding actors and you will recieve plenty of appreciation and recieve a copy for your showreel.
Unfortunately because this is a low-budget production we will not be able to pay any wages, but we will pay for all travel expenses and provide you with plenty of refreshments.
