Auteur School of Independent Filmmaking

I did the 6 week course through Auteur School of Independent Filmmaking in 2011 in Jhb. I paid the R25000 payment once-off before the course started. I went to all classes and did everything that was expected of me. I have still not received my Diploma. I have sent numerous emails to Amour Setter through the course of years. She still has not sent me my Diploma. I went to Cape Town on holiday a while later and went to see her personally. But still no Diploma. After doing the course I did an internship with a freelance offline editor. I can’t prove that I did a course because I don’t have the Diploma.

I was a student of Amour's 6-week intensive film production course in 2006, when the school was first operating as The Excellent Film School. And that was certainly appropriate, because I LOVED IT. Even better: My graduating film (LOST WORLD) won the Reelshow International Online Film Festival in 2008! I have always been in love with drama, from stage to film, and the course seemed the perfect way to step into the professional world and make money out of my passion. What is so awesome about Amour is how much she immerses herself into the courses, into her students and into the projects. She continued to help me by getting me a great booking agent which has led to several fantastic contracts, of great variety. Still today she continues to drive and support my dreams and now even runs her own agency for crew placement.
